Brunswick owns the most popular boating brands on the planet. Based in suburban Chicago, Brunswick manufactures recreational watercraft, marine engines and Original Equipment Manufactured (OEM) parts and accessories for boaters across four continents and 24 countries.
To keep up with the global pace of innovation, Brunswick’s OneASG needed to replace NAUTIC-ON remote monitoring hardware on each boat with cloud-based applications. But as they dug into this digital transformation project, the team quickly identified a mission-critical release bottleneck: Testing.
Discover how Copado Robotic Testing makes it easy for OneASG to scale functional testing and deliver error-free software releases for Sea Ray+ and MyWhaler on both iOS and Android.

Brunswick’s Sea Ray and Boston Whaler boats are fitted with mobile apps that let owners store documents in a virtual wallet, check the weather, record trips and monitor their watercraft remotely. The software for these apps is written and released by Brunswick’s Digital CX Solutions Team, OneASG (Advanced Systems Group).
When OneASG looked at their pipelines and mapped out their transformation goals, they realized that manual testing couldn’t handle the volume of tests they had to run. They needed the power of DevOps automation to meet their aggressive roadmap for future mobile functionalities.
OneASG needed a testing solution that combined the best of both worlds: AI-powered automation and low-code functionality.
To offer a top-notch customer experience, OneASG initially turned to the test automation marketplace and implemented open-source tools. But these platforms featured code-based UI and required a high level of technical expertise to operate.
With Copado Robotic Testing, it takes Brunswick’s OneASG team just seven hours to run regression testing for each release to production. Test automation covers 50% of OneASG’s new mobile app infrastructure and their QA team saves 32 hours of human effort per release.
Copado also reinforces OneASG’s testing process with hands-on support and auxiliary training modules.
Today, the Sea Ray and Boston Whaler boats offer their owners the full power of the cloud. From GPS tracking to geofencing, each cloud-native feature in the apps is tested by multiple robots to enhance the boat owners’ experience.
OneASG’s testing practice is still in its infancy — but the team is positioning itself for exponential growth across devices, brands, platforms and languages. From expanding into European and Asian markets to extending language functionality, Brunswick OneASG is building a bedrock of test automation to scale future transformation and localize customer experiences.
“We need to be modular and agile enough to expand to 10 brands and 20 apps next year, and maybe up to 50 varieties by the end of next year,” says LaRocca. “So we’re positioning ourselves to get ahead of the avalanche that’s coming.”
