Kimberly-Clark wanted to transform the way they managed interactions with retail customers — creating responsive, engaging experiences that delivered high levels of customer satisfaction. They chose Salesforce Sales Cloud and Service Cloud as their platforms.
To realize this vision, they also needed to build an agile product team to create core capabilities on the platform and customize these capabilities for specific regional and global markets. Kimberly-Clark needed to implement best practice DevOps processes, allowing it to quickly and consistently deliver high-quality releases at scale.
Around the same time Kimberly-Clark was evaluating Salesforce and Copado, they were also discussing the need to ensure they had a proper backup and recovery solution. They stored PII data in Salesforce and needed to ensure compliance with federal regulations that come along with storing any type of sensitive data.
After looking at multiple options and carrying out a proof of concept, Kimberly-Clark selected Copado. According to Kimberly-Clark, it was easily the most mature solution and supported their model of customizing core capabilities for regional markets.
The company introduced Copado alongside Salesforce in its initial rollout to the retail sector, ensuring that it implemented DevOps best practices as part of its initial go-live. It has now introduced the Copado-powered Salesforce solution into 28 markets in Latin America, as well as EMEA, Israel, and North America.
For Kimberly-Clark, their current successes in its retail, trade, and professional customer segments are just the beginning. Using DevOps best practices is continuing to drive adoption across the entire organization.
The retail development team is currently selling the benefits of Copado to other areas within the business. They are also leveraging advanced Copado capabilities — such as seeding sandboxes, monitoring and enforcing compliance rules for metadata changes with Copado Compliance Hub, and automating testing with Copado Robotic Testing — to strengthen the DevOps processes.
